I’m a financial writer and a registered tax preparer in the state of California with an IRS PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number). I publish fiction under a pseudonym with 6 published novels and a dozen shorter pieces currently in print or contracted for release.  I have also edited four anthologies of short stories for two different publishers.

During tax season, I work as a tax preparer, and the rest of the year I focus on freelance financial writing, editing and my own fiction. For this reason, I’m familiar with filing taxes for a wide variety of financial situations and understand what you’ll need to know whether you do your taxes yourself, use commercial software, or pay someone to do taxes for you.

I hold a MSc in Financial Economics from the London School of Economics and a BA in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley. I worked as a staff economist in the White House Council of Economic Advisers covering Asia and Eastern Europe. I have also worked in London and Tokyo as a financial economist.
